Course Description: Drawing I/II is an upper level course offering that concentrates on the area of drawing. This will include work in pastel, colored pencil, charcoal, ink, and graphite. Students will utilize what they have learned in Into to Art along with the elements and principles of art and take these practices to a higher level. Students will develop advanced skills in figure, still life, perspective, and abstract/non-representational drawing. Each week we will explore different artists and art history to learn about different styles and aesthetics. We will be working on studio projects, worksheets/handouts, tests/quizzes, and written reflections. Students will be required to maintain a sketchbook for project planning, writings, and notes along with a folder for handouts and rubrics.
